Formula Description

Georgia combines both parents' adjusted incomes and takes the Basic Child Support Obligation from the table codified at O.C.G.A. Β§ 19-6-15(o). Each parent's pro rata share is their adjusted income divided by the combined adjusted income.

Rates & Multipliers

Set by the statutory table by combined adjusted income and number of children, for one through six children.

Income Caps

For high-income parents the court sets the basic obligation at the highest amount in the table, and may consider an upward deviation in the child's best interest.

Disclaimer: This is an informational estimate based on standard guidelines. Actual court calculations may differ based on judicial discretion, specific deductions, and unique family circumstances.

Georgia Guidelines

State-Specific Formula

Georgia applies the Income Shares Model under O.C.G.A. Β§ 19-6-15. Both parents' adjusted incomes are combined, the Basic Child Support Obligation is read from the statutory table, and each parent pays a pro rata share equal to their percentage of combined adjusted income.

Important Disclaimer

The table amount is rebuttably presumed correct before health insurance, work-related child care and deviations are applied. The Georgia Child Support Commission maintains the official calculator and worksheets used by the courts.
